My Story
Julie Rose Dunphy is a powerhouse in finance, and in life. A Tampa native with deep roots and global reach, she’s built an impressive career that spans Big 4 accounting, private equity, international M&A, and corporate leadership. Currently the CFO of Exadel, a digital
engineering services company, Julie has made her mark by leading global acquisitions and strategic financial initiatives for companies backed by Apollo, APAX, and other leading firms.
What sets her apart is a combination of discipline, vision, and grit. While managing mergers across continents, she attended law school at night, all while raising two daughters who were then in elementary school. Her story is that of quiet determination, and she has come a long way from once being told to be “demure” in board meetings to having carved a space for herself in the professional circuit.
A lifelong learner and strength-seeker, Julie took up weightlifting about a decade ago, shattering her own mental barriers and embracing the gym as a space of power. From ballet to barbells, spreadsheets to statutes, she’s lived a life of contrast, clarity, and courage. Her daughters, now grown, kind, and bold, are her proudest legacy.

What advice would she give her younger self?
Not all advice is good advice. Do not take everything people say on face value. Be confident in what you believe is right, and trust your instincts.
